Tolerance in business is yet one of those topics that needs to be looked at seriously. I want to claim that tolerance has to start from within in order for it to spread to others, but again I may be wrong. Fact is if you want to reach the greatest number of people, you will have to develop tolerance.
You want to develop the ability to understand that not all people think like you and therefore it is your responsibility to give them the opportunity to express themselves and to enable you to understand that they are telling you.
Passive Act of Life:
The attitude live and let live is not part of being tolerant, on the contrary, tolerance goes beyond because it needs you to take action and to try to understand, to ask, meet and explore so that you are able to explore as many avenues as possible, when it comes to developing tolerance.
You will quickly come to realize as far as your business is concerned, that communication and behaviors of others or rather your client is very important, as you do not want to judge what they do, but instead more understand what or why they do it the way they do it.
Tolerance is not an event, it's a learning process. Not to judge is very important as you are giving an opportunity to persons to open up to you and this way you encourage them to express themselves freely as they no longer have fears of not being accepted.
Tolerance in Business:
You now must be wondering so how can you use tolerance in business for the success of your business. Well it's very easy what is paramount for your business is success and success will mean that you want to understand what your customers are looking for.
If you are already in business, most likely you have experienced tough customers who are extremely difficult to handle - I know what I am talking about because I am one of those people who are pretty critical and although I do not provoke unnecessarily, I question and I am always very happy when I get a service provider who is ready to listen and to take my point of view seriously.
You have to aim to understand your client as they will be giving you free of charge invaluable information which you can use to improve your business. The experiences, frustrations with your product or service will be delivered to you as a complaint, what you need to do is to take these complaints and deal with be objectively, more so to improve your product or service to the customers.
Tolerance in Business - A Negotiating Tool:
Did you know that developing tolerance in business can be used as a tool to negotiate? It opens dialogue and dialogue is an opportunity for you to build a profound relationship with your customers. You want to develop relationship with your client so that both of you can benefit, on your side you have the opportunity to find out what the customer's needs are, and on the customer's side, they have an opportunity to air their views freely and most likely to get a better deal from you.
If we start to develop our skills of creating tolerance in business, we are making it easier for us to reach agreements with clients, and let us be honest, it also makes it possible for us to become more tolerant both on a personal and professional level. This makes life in many ways much easier and we will be free of tension with other people.
